To love at all is to be vulnerable. Love anything and your heart will certainly be wrung and possibly be broken. If you want to be sure of keeping it intact, you must give your heart to no one - not even to an animal. Wrap it carefully round with hobbies and little luxuries; avoid all entanglements. Lock it up safely in the casket or the coffin of your selfishness. But, in that casket- safe, dark, motionless, airless, it will change. It will not be broken; it will become unbreakable, impenetrable, unredeemable. The only place outside heaven where you can be safe from all the dangers and perturbations of love, is hell.

Spring cleaning
I decided to get a little more organised. The first step:
That's the barbeque mesh wire grill from Daiso that I wrote about a few entries back. For just $2, it does a pretty good job at displaying my favourite jewellery. I think I have to go back and get more though - I've got too much barang barang and they can't all fit onto a single grill.
After cleaning my room, I busied myself with streamlining my makeup collection. I threw away everything that I hadn't touched in years and was left with the following:
After that I spent ages sorting everything out by type (lip/cheek/eyes/face/tools), frequency of usage (everything that I use daily gets stacked on top of my muji 3-tier case, everything that I use occasionally is arranged inside the case, and everything that I hardly ever touched is packed inside my green organiser), colour, and so on. I still have more at home though, but I'll save that for another day. Finally washed my makeup brushes as well - long overdue, really. They'd gone unwashed for about a year or so. Hmm maybe that's why I've been breaking out. Or maybe it's the less-than-clean bedlinen that I sleep on. Whoops. Time to stop being a slob.
