To love at all is to be vulnerable. Love anything and your heart will certainly be wrung and possibly be broken. If you want to be sure of keeping it intact, you must give your heart to no one - not even to an animal. Wrap it carefully round with hobbies and little luxuries; avoid all entanglements. Lock it up safely in the casket or the coffin of your selfishness. But, in that casket- safe, dark, motionless, airless, it will change. It will not be broken; it will become unbreakable, impenetrable, unredeemable. The only place outside heaven where you can be safe from all the dangers and perturbations of love, is hell.

Where I get my daily fix
There are two sites that I keep bookmarked just so that I have something new to read everyday: Tomorrow.sg and I Talk Too Much.
In a nutshell, I Talk Too Much reviews blogs, while Tomorrow.sg posts links to interesting entries. The self-proclaimed Bitches at I Talk Too Much are really quite scathing in their reviews and they don't mince their words - quite terrifying, really, I imagine it must be for some people, but they do it with such caustic wit and British (and I apologise for getting carried away with generalisations, but British humour for me is synonymous with good taste and substance beyond the slapstick) humour that I've gotten quite addicted. Anyway, I submitted my blog for review and they didn't fail to disappoint me:
This is really quite a pretty template. The font could stand to be a little bigger, but it's not so small as to be offensive. And everything is laid out nicely.
Lots of photos, mostly of herself. My God, this blog is so boring. It's just an exercise in narcissism.
This blog made me think of Robin Williams's speech in Good Will Hunting, where he's talking about life vs. literature. Trying to strike a balance between her Apollonian and Dionysian self? Now THAT'S something kinda stupid.
She gave me two smacks out of five though. I was expecting zero, considering how low their tolerance can be for self-absorbed people like myself. Anyway, it was all in the name of fun. I'll link the site up proper, together with Tomorrow.sg and my new favourite blogs, when I tweak my layout after the exams.
Oh and do check out Mari! I discovered her blog via Tomorrow.sg and she's an absolute delight. Writes beautifully and has the most insightful entries. Check this entry out for starters.
And then of course I've had some links passed on to me from friends. Bryanboy is simply quite amazing in his flamboyance. He's obviously well-educated and intelligent too, underneath that veneer of ditz. He's even been described as Paris Hilton, reincarnated as a gay, Asian twink. Not too far off the mark, I'd say.

Ah but you take lovely pictures. :) I took a quick peek and liked what I saw too; will check out your blog more thoroughly once I'm done with my horrid exams.
