To love at all is to be vulnerable. Love anything and your heart will certainly be wrung and possibly be broken. If you want to be sure of keeping it intact, you must give your heart to no one - not even to an animal. Wrap it carefully round with hobbies and little luxuries; avoid all entanglements. Lock it up safely in the casket or the coffin of your selfishness. But, in that casket- safe, dark, motionless, airless, it will change. It will not be broken; it will become unbreakable, impenetrable, unredeemable. The only place outside heaven where you can be safe from all the dangers and perturbations of love, is hell.

Mugging in progress... or maybe not.
For once I sat myself down at my desk with my notes and a pink highlighter, and attempted to get some work done. The boy didn't really believe I was capable of being a muggertoad, so I let him monitor me on webcam.
At the start, I spent more time showing off my mugging than actually mugging.
Fengyi very observantly pointed out that by showing her how I was mugging, I wasn't actually getting any mugging done. Instead, I was "taking pictures"; "MSNing", and so on. Whoops. Well I did get some work done in the end but I was too tired so I called it a night after finishing only one set of notes.
At one point, I took a break to grab some food with the girls. I didn't actually think that the boy would notice my absence from the computer because he couldn't possibly be looking at my webcam display the whole time. Instead, I returned to see this on my screen:
Ok, so big daddy's watching. Yikes. I resolve to get more studying done tomorrow. Bedtime!
