To love at all is to be vulnerable. Love anything and your heart will certainly be wrung and possibly be broken. If you want to be sure of keeping it intact, you must give your heart to no one - not even to an animal. Wrap it carefully round with hobbies and little luxuries; avoid all entanglements. Lock it up safely in the casket or the coffin of your selfishness. But, in that casket- safe, dark, motionless, airless, it will change. It will not be broken; it will become unbreakable, impenetrable, unredeemable. The only place outside heaven where you can be safe from all the dangers and perturbations of love, is hell.

Family day!

For once, I chose family over love and went home on Saturday night instead of having the boy stay over. Tough call, but I really hadn't been home in ages and my mom sounded like she kinda missed me.

I guess nothing beats the comfort of home. Snuggled under my quilt (lovingly made by my aunt!) and sprawled on my soft bed, I slept for a mind-boggling twelve hours. I woke up a little before noon and was immediately served breakfast by my mom. They really do treat me like a princess. Then again, I am an only child. They've never even laid a hand on me - yes, my parents are that soft-hearted when it comes to their daughter.

Anyway, my dad went to Malaysia really early with some of his friends to pray for more fortune (it's just one of those places where apparently a lot of people go to for good luck in gambling and end up striking the lottery) so it was just my mom and I at home. Actually, my mom and dad both struck lottery with numbers that they'd been given at some religious festivities so now they're both acting a little more superstitious than usual. Mmm.

My mom decided to take me shopping and we ended up lugging back armfuls of bags. What she got me:

- Two pairs of Vincci shoes in the same design, but in black and bronze
- One black bolero
- A giant silver tote
- A gold slouch shoulder bag
- Assorted hair accessories

Pictures later! Gotta study a little first and there's dance practice later too.

Anyway, my dad came back in time to bring us out for dinner and send me back to hall. Speaking of which, my dad's a total scamp. He's always up to some mischief or another. We were having dinner when this lady hawker behind him shouted for the drinks seller, "Pui eh! Eh pui eh!" (loosely translated as "Fatty! Eh fatty!")

Now the drinks seller was a little hard of hearing so she didn't get a response from him despite repeating herself quite a few times. My dad grinned impishly and started shouting as well, "Pui eh!" After that he just started addressing the man as "Pui eh", even calling him over and chatting to him. My mom and I could only shake our heads.

Comments:
Well, I can see most of the girl chose family more than love. But there one thing I don't know which is why do all singaporean girls like to be treat like a princess or call them princess. Anyway, looking forward to see the photos. Take care.
