To love at all is to be vulnerable. Love anything and your heart will certainly be wrung and possibly be broken. If you want to be sure of keeping it intact, you must give your heart to no one - not even to an animal. Wrap it carefully round with hobbies and little luxuries; avoid all entanglements. Lock it up safely in the casket or the coffin of your selfishness. But, in that casket- safe, dark, motionless, airless, it will change. It will not be broken; it will become unbreakable, impenetrable, unredeemable. The only place outside heaven where you can be safe from all the dangers and perturbations of love, is hell.

Rants and raves

Lost without my baby

My camera's been taken away from me again, by Twerp no less. Dear May, if you're reading this, I'm thinking that maybe a camera would be an excellent Christmas gift for Terence.

Speaking of which, the man is absolutely terrible. Not only does he deprive me of my prized possession, he also takes perverse pleasure in embarrassing me. For absolutely no reason at all, he asked me what I thought of his new tie. I thought it was hideous but I thought I should cover my ass first before I said anything, so I asked if his darling had bought it for him. They looked at each other for a while - that should have sent off warning bells in my head - before he replied in the negative. Thinking that it was safe then to just say what I thought, I told him bluntly that it just wasn't doing anything for me.

That was when I found out that she had bought the tie for him, and I'd just made the ultimate faux pas. Ohgawd.

Audition

Went for an audition for a fashion show and discovered the most amazing shop ever! It's at United Square (Novena MRT), B1, and it's called Foi's Designs. The name's a little dodgy I know, but the clothes... simply breathtaking. Rack after rack of tiny slips of chiffon, satin, lace, beads, sequins, and every other luxurious fabric or feminine detailing you could possibly imagine.

I fell in love with the delicate champagne camisole that I was handed - the scooped neckline dipped low, but was tastefully trimmed with beads and sequins and tied in the centre; the chiffon felt absolutely dreamy as it skimmed my skin. Gorgeous. Then I took a look at the price tag: $317. Ohmygod.

Obviously this isn't high street fashion or merchandise for the masses. Sigh.
