To love at all is to be vulnerable. Love anything and your heart will certainly be wrung and possibly be broken. If you want to be sure of keeping it intact, you must give your heart to no one - not even to an animal. Wrap it carefully round with hobbies and little luxuries; avoid all entanglements. Lock it up safely in the casket or the coffin of your selfishness. But, in that casket- safe, dark, motionless, airless, it will change. It will not be broken; it will become unbreakable, impenetrable, unredeemable. The only place outside heaven where you can be safe from all the dangers and perturbations of love, is hell.

New photos from Clubsnap

I love Clubsnap! It's a forum for photography buffs, and these guys actually spend a lot of time covering events like fashion shows, car shows, pageants, and so on - just indulging in their hobby, hoping to get nice shots. And sometimes there are photographers turning up when I'm working. Chances are, some of them are probably Clubsnap-ers and in a day or two after the event, they'll post the photos on the forum. That's how I got my Tropicana photos, as well as the two FHM photos here. Brilliant!

I've since learnt to be a lot smarter in my work - I won't do what I'm not comfortable with, and I'll get away with what I can. In the FHM instance, we were told to wear a bikini under the race queen outfit only about 10 hours before the event, and more than a week after I'd accepted the job, being told that it was just a sleeveless vest and shorts.

I rebelled by bringing a tube instead of a bikini, but one of the girls had a spare one (unpadded! The other girls brought along all sorts of stuff to pump up their bikinis but since I wasn't expecting to be wearing one... bah.) so I put that on, reluctantly. Then I kept my vest zipped up throughout. The rest of the girls can flash their flesh, I'll just be the good little girl in the two pigtails.

Comments:
Lol they do sound quite silly - but I suppose in any case, even if you don't boost the sales directly, the customers will be coming in for the eye candy so indirectly the place benefits. At least the customers are kept happy, so they'll keep hiring girls to do promo.

Ey, if you don't feel like doing promo, pass me the contact can? I actually like doing promo because I love the alcohol and somehow that makes the customers damn happy. :P Sorry about the other time though - took me a while to consider but in the end I chose boyfriend over money coz we just had a fight. :/

hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm my best friend was working at the f1 event as an fhm girl as well..

I think if you play up for eyemakeup more you'll look for vava-voom in pictures! Oh by the way, if you're doing free-lance modelling at tradeshows for about 4-5 hours a day what will your rates be? I hate to go through modelling agencies because the poor girls always get demoralised due to the pay cut. just a backgroud: recently, we hire Models to promotion ATI graphics during our major trade shows. Uniform simiar to FHM but without the zip in front. Full frontal coverage :P - Elaine

AH so THAT's why she looked so familiar! I was wondering where I'd seen her before. I didn't work with her but I saw her photos on clubsnap - do tell her to look at http://forums.clubsnap.org/showthread.php?t=152166

Elaine, SMS me? I lost your number coz I lost my phone. (quite a while back) I know the market rate is about $50/hour and up (depending on outfit and job scope), but just let me know what you think is a good offer and we can work from there? :)

50/hour?!?!

WOW!

Heh that's the minimum for an experienced events model. You've got to wear the "race queen" outfit and pose for pictures, basically be comfortable with photographers and interaction. Most experienced events models wouldn't work for any less than that, so companies paying less have to settle with amateur freelancers - usually students with no modelling experience.

oh dear. she looks quite bad in some of those photos. in fact most of them. oh dear oh dear. hahahaha think i won't show her :x
