To love at all is to be vulnerable. Love anything and your heart will certainly be wrung and possibly be broken. If you want to be sure of keeping it intact, you must give your heart to no one - not even to an animal. Wrap it carefully round with hobbies and little luxuries; avoid all entanglements. Lock it up safely in the casket or the coffin of your selfishness. But, in that casket- safe, dark, motionless, airless, it will change. It will not be broken; it will become unbreakable, impenetrable, unredeemable. The only place outside heaven where you can be safe from all the dangers and perturbations of love, is hell.

Kinky shit

I'm spending the weekend dressed as a French maid of sorts. It seemed respectable enough at first - corporate wear consisting of a white shirt and black skirt, paired with black heels. But then of course they left out the bit about the black satin apron (which is technically too tiny to fulfil the function of an apron and actually looks like something you'd find in an adult novelty store) trimmed in white lace.

It's not so bad, really. Quite cute over the corporate wear, and I imagine it would be some kinky shit if we just took the corporate wear away and replaced it with... ok never mind. This blog is strictly PG-rated.

Anyway. So apart from that little surprise, we also ended up doing things outside of our job scope. Technically we were hired to serve drinks (just as a French maid would, of course), but we ended up being pimps (soliciting customers to come sit down and listen to our people do their thing) and basically just about anything and everything that they needed us to be. Photocopying I/Cs mainly. Beats me why they'd pay good money hiring us for the job when they could have paid much less for anyone else to do the same thing.
