To love at all is to be vulnerable. Love anything and your heart will certainly be wrung and possibly be broken. If you want to be sure of keeping it intact, you must give your heart to no one - not even to an animal. Wrap it carefully round with hobbies and little luxuries; avoid all entanglements. Lock it up safely in the casket or the coffin of your selfishness. But, in that casket- safe, dark, motionless, airless, it will change. It will not be broken; it will become unbreakable, impenetrable, unredeemable. The only place outside heaven where you can be safe from all the dangers and perturbations of love, is hell.

I ♥ my Shu curler and L'oreal mascara
Paused to take pictures after having applied mascara on only one eye to illustrate the wonders of a) my Shu curler (goodbye to poker-straight lashes!) and b) my L'oreal mascara (lengthens, volumises, holds the curl, and doesn't clump!).
Just an everyday look, with two light coats of mascara on the top lashes only - first applied in a zigzag motion across the lashes (for volume), then swept upwards (to separate and lengthen) at an angle. Absolutely no clumps!

hey, funky la. n i still have no idea on ps. muahaha. i can't wait for bangkok!!!
Ugh. my shiseido one doesn't produce such nice eyelashes! beauty editors gave same ratings to both shu uemura and shiseido curlers but i chose shiseido. UGH. am i using it wrongly?
Hey qinmei, I think it depends on the individual. For me, Shu works better than Shiseido because it fits the curve of my eyelid better. Technique wise, I crimp and hold for a few seconds, starting from the base (as near to the roots as I can without hurting myself) and work my way to the end of the lashes. :)
