To love at all is to be vulnerable. Love anything and your heart will certainly be wrung and possibly be broken. If you want to be sure of keeping it intact, you must give your heart to no one - not even to an animal. Wrap it carefully round with hobbies and little luxuries; avoid all entanglements. Lock it up safely in the casket or the coffin of your selfishness. But, in that casket- safe, dark, motionless, airless, it will change. It will not be broken; it will become unbreakable, impenetrable, unredeemable. The only place outside heaven where you can be safe from all the dangers and perturbations of love, is hell.

Busy bumblebee
I'm swamped with schoolwork and suddenly they're throwing me jobs left, right, and centre. What's up man.
And I think I'm pretty much screwed. 1500 word essay due tomorrow at 4pm, and I'm not quite done with the research as of 4pm today. To make things worse, because it's a level 3000 history module, we're departing from broad generalisations and moving on to specific analyses.
That's how I ended up poring over books on sakdina (to put it very simply, Thai feudalism if you're Marxist, or patron-client relationships if you're more of a loyalist) and now I'm panicking because there's so little material - well, anything that's relevant and useful for my essay anyway - to be found on the topic.
Can I just cry now?
