To love at all is to be vulnerable. Love anything and your heart will certainly be wrung and possibly be broken. If you want to be sure of keeping it intact, you must give your heart to no one - not even to an animal. Wrap it carefully round with hobbies and little luxuries; avoid all entanglements. Lock it up safely in the casket or the coffin of your selfishness. But, in that casket- safe, dark, motionless, airless, it will change. It will not be broken; it will become unbreakable, impenetrable, unredeemable. The only place outside heaven where you can be safe from all the dangers and perturbations of love, is hell.

School is fun
I had an amazing time today in school. In fact, I enjoyed myself so much that I almost came to regret my habit of skipping school and missing out on all the fun.
For our European Nationalisms tutorial, we sat in a circle and first discussed issues of national and individual identity in pairs before sharing our ideas with the rest of the group. Now I know that doesn't sound particularly exciting, but it was. Probably because of the composition of our group - there was a mix of people of a different race, religion, gender, and nationality. Everyone had something different to say, and eager enough to voice it out. It was the first tutorial that I've seen actually succeed in getting a discussion going. And it certainly culminated in a paradigm shift for me - never again will I see nationalism in the same light.
I shan't bore you with all the itty bitty details and the nitty gritty, so I'll stop here. I just hope this marks the return of the muggertoad. I'm supposed to get back onto the Dean's List this semester for the boy. So there.

In other news:
Mario has dedicated an entire entry to my obsession with Burger King's chicken salad.
Despite strenuous protests, I maintain my stand in this. Who goes to BURGER KING to eat salad? For real. The draw of BURGER KING, is perhaps, THE BURGERS. And the meat of course. Flame grilled meat. Not greens.
You need to think this over. Because you're weird. Accept it.
Salad. BLEAH. (DISCLAIMER: I eat salad, sometimes, when there's enough salad dressing. But just not at BK.)
Aw man! And all because I keep dragging him to BK to satisfy my salad craving and the meat-loving carnivore just can't appreciate the delight that a BK salad can bring. Tsk.
