RollerbladesI've been meaning to pick up rollerblading - apparently it provides a very good workout, particularly for toning the lower body. Since the boy offered to teach me, I finally went hunting for rollerblades. I didn't want to invest too much money on a pair of good blades that I'd probably end up not using much, so secondhand blades from Yahoo! Auctions seemed like a good alternative. I paid $17 (!!) for a decent pair, with elbow and knee pads thrown in. Oh man. I still can't quite believe I wound up with such a good deal.
iPod ShuffleI sold my Zen Neeon quite a while ago with the intention of using the money to get two iPod Shuffles: one for the boy, and one for myself.
I know it seems like such a terrible thing to do, selling off my 21st birthday present from my boyfriend, but I'd much rather be practical than sentimental here. The damn thing was just giving me too many problems, so it made more sense to replace it with something that I would actually use. The bonus was that I could get two new iPod Shuffles with that money, and the boy had been hankering after the Shuffle anyway ever since he sold his Creative player, so this way we both get what we want, without him having to spend a single cent more.
Anyway, I'm getting my Shuffle tomorrow! I can't wait to dress it up, but nothing's caught my eye so far - there's a serious dearth of cool skins around. I'm eyeing the arm band (I'm thinking that this would come in handy while rollerblading or jogging) and the sport case (waterproof! perfect for the beach!), but they're listed as $54 each on the Apple site. -gulp-
New hair colour! For an upcoming show, the client is making us all dye our hair black. They're extremely anal about this because we'll all be decked out in traditional Korean costumes and apparently only jet-black hair will fit in with the part. I was a bit peeved initially when they insisted that we all had to dye our hair for that one day (temporary spray-on hair colour won't do because the costumes are all tailor-made from Korea and worth more than $1K apiece, and they're absolutely terrified at the prospect of the dye running and staining the clothes), but then I found out that they're covering the cost of having our hair done in a proper salon. Ok, not too bad. I was a little sick of my copper highlights anyway. Now I'm toying with the idea of getting coloured hair extensions after the show, probably in purple, pink, red, or a combination of those colours.
