ansar rcit was a pain in the ass waking up for this assignment. i was supposed to reach the location (all the way in the east! bedok! and i'm in clementi!) at 8.30am. it was a good thing that i had a direct bus - but it was a super long route, and my ride was from the terminal to the second last stop. in addition i had to prepare my outfits and makeup in advance so that meant very, very, little sleep.
when i finally dragged myself out of bed, i was very grumpy indeed. it didn't help either that a certain someone was lying next to me. i'd much rather have stayed in bed than get up for an assignment. but it's money we're talking about here ok! i'd do almost anything for money.
mini-ranttalking about money reminds me of the sad situation i'm in. my commitment to ehoc, i mean. i joined the committee mainly because i needed the points to stay on in hall, and also because i thought it'd be an enriching experience. i didn't want to have stayed in hall for three years and not having tried all the main activities. i've done dance, dnd, block comm, and culture comm. the only biggie left was ehoc.
but now i'm not so sure i made the right decision when money comes into play. i've had to turn down quite a few jcm gigs because of ehoc. the communique asia exhibition that i couldn't go for was the most painful no i've ever had to say. it was $200/day for four days - which makes it $800 that could have been mine. ouch. i could have paid for a weekend bangkok trip for two with that money.
now that i've poured it out, though, i'm just going to try my darndest to forget about it. the boy is right: money can always be earned another time. there's no point fretting about what could have been, or what was lost. i'm just gonna have to put it aside and move on. i can't wait for ehoc to be over.
the photoshootback to the photoshoot. i was supposed to pose for a club of amateur photographers, but most of them couldn't make it and as it turned out, there were only three photographers. not that it made any difference to me; i still got paid the full sum.
it was quite fun, although i took some time to warm to the photographers. they were very nice folks - kindly and jovial hobbyists. i think i drove them nuts though because i'm so clueless at this sort of thing. they instructed me on some poses and that was fine, but apparently my best free poses are lost whenever they put down their cameras. i'd be fooling around, standing on tippy toes, swinging my arms around, making faces, and so on. but i just can't maintain that kind of pose long enough for them to take a photo. i need lots and lots of practice man.
at the end of the photoshoot, they were so sweet as to offer to burn me a cd of all the photos. whee! i'm looking forward to seeing how the pictures turn out - i caught a glimpse of some and they looked better than the photos from the outdoor shoot.
