To love at all is to be vulnerable. Love anything and your heart will certainly be wrung and possibly be broken. If you want to be sure of keeping it intact, you must give your heart to no one - not even to an animal. Wrap it carefully round with hobbies and little luxuries; avoid all entanglements. Lock it up safely in the casket or the coffin of your selfishness. But, in that casket- safe, dark, motionless, airless, it will change. It will not be broken; it will become unbreakable, impenetrable, unredeemable. The only place outside heaven where you can be safe from all the dangers and perturbations of love, is hell.

Oh happy day.

I'm starting to think that I might be a homebody after all.

If Friday was a good day, Saturday is turning out to be an even better one. The boy came over and we stayed in the whole day. I was way happier staying in hall with him than when we were at IMM on Friday night.

In a nutshell, our day looked like this:

♥ Early morning (2am, to be precise) mahjong
♥ Sleep
♥ Breakfast
♥ More sleep for him while I went for Rag dance practice (Yes! I'm doing Rag dance after all!)
♥ Made lunch and woke the boy up when it was ready
♥ Watched Bring It On in my room
♥ Afternoon mahjong
♥ Dinner
♥ Watched Bring It On Again (the sequel) in my room

Other than the fact that I'm just about the messiest girl in the world, I'm pretty much wife material. Hell, I hate to clean and to do chores in general, but nothing pleases me more than to do things for the man I love, to see to his creature comforts, and to make him happy. I'm practically a relic in this modern age of feminism.

I'll save talking about relationships and my take on love for later. In the meantime... RAG DANCE!

Practice today was great. The choreography in general is quite different from the genre that I'm used to. I've been a gymnast, I've done Chinese dance, and I do mainly contemporary dances... which means I'm more adept at moves that are fluid and require a certain amount of grace and technical ability. Rag dance, in contrast, is more about energy and crisp, sharp moves.

That's exactly the reason why I've always wanted to give Rag dance a try, if only for the experience. It's something unfamiliar; it's the challenge of venturing into the unknown. And then of course there's the gorgeous costumes, hair teased and pulled to perfection, body paint, staying up the night before and running on pure adrenalin on the day of competition itself... it's an experience not to be missed.

Comments:
being a xiao nu ren is not necessarily a bad thing, it can be good.

but..... being one that calls oneself a relic and basking in self praise... not very hot.

Wei! Stop being antagonistic can?

What's wrong with being proud of who I am? And there is a subtle difference between acknowledging what seems to me to be a fact (being a relic) and "basking in self-praise", as you term it.

I'd rather stay true to myself and just put my thoughts up than censor myself in order to please my readers. I don't see why I should phrase my thoughts in a way that pleases you rather than myself, particularly seeing as how I can't control how you choose to perceive innocuous observations.

If all you can do is come in here and try to get a rise out of me with your antagonism, then congratulations, you've tasted success. But as a friend that keeps harping on how wonderful a friend he is, I'd just like to direct your attention to the fact that your behaviour here is, to quote a certain someone, "not very hot".

I may be overly harsh or over-reacting here, but that's just me. I stand up for what I believe in and I fight back with teeth and nails when I'm riled. Can you just keep your antagonism in check before I start biting?
