To love at all is to be vulnerable. Love anything and your heart will certainly be wrung and possibly be broken. If you want to be sure of keeping it intact, you must give your heart to no one - not even to an animal. Wrap it carefully round with hobbies and little luxuries; avoid all entanglements. Lock it up safely in the casket or the coffin of your selfishness. But, in that casket- safe, dark, motionless, airless, it will change. It will not be broken; it will become unbreakable, impenetrable, unredeemable. The only place outside heaven where you can be safe from all the dangers and perturbations of love, is hell.

Of beginnings and ends.

The lapse in my posting probably gives an indication of how busy I've been this past week.

On Monday alone I finished designing three things for EHOC - the doortags, nametags, and orientation booklet. The only thing left for me to do as a PNP-er is the scoreboard. Oh and to help the Flag team design their bash tickets.

On Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, I busied myself with the various projects that BBSS had assigned for the teaching attachment.

On Thursday, after delivering a presentation to the teachers on our learning experience, I rushed back to hall for the official introduction of the EHOC committee to the freshmen. That marked the start of our orientation programme and we had icebreakers that very night. I excused myself mid-programme to work on my lesson plan for school the next day. I joined the rest later for a debrief and a meeting with Master. That man never fails to annoy and exasperate.

Friday marked the end of my stint at BBSS. I had a most enjoyable lesson with a Sec3E History class, and observing the uniformed groups after school was an eye-opener as well. As a mini-celebration and reward to myself for having survived the past three weeks, I spent my free time in school designing a new layout for this blog as well as watching Bring It On. In the evening, the boy and I had a date at IMM. All in all, it was a great day. I haven't had one in a long while.

I was supposed to go for Rag dance practice this Saturday but I've pulled out of Rag dance. I'd been prepared to slog it out, juggling EHOC and Rag dance, but I've been advised not to. After some thought, and with a great deal of reluctance, I acknowledged that perhaps it might turn out to be rather too gruelling for me. It's a real pity, because it means that I'll have gone through university without ever having done Rag dance. I guess we all have to make our sacrifices at some point in time.

Orientation swings into full force next week. I'm holding my breath and keeping my fingers crossed.
