To love at all is to be vulnerable. Love anything and your heart will certainly be wrung and possibly be broken. If you want to be sure of keeping it intact, you must give your heart to no one - not even to an animal. Wrap it carefully round with hobbies and little luxuries; avoid all entanglements. Lock it up safely in the casket or the coffin of your selfishness. But, in that casket- safe, dark, motionless, airless, it will change. It will not be broken; it will become unbreakable, impenetrable, unredeemable. The only place outside heaven where you can be safe from all the dangers and perturbations of love, is hell.

zonked out

so utterly deadbeat. four hours of sleep daily on average. irregular meals. physical and mental exertion. is it any wonder then that i've lost another two kilos over these few days, making my weight loss for the past two months a scary seven kilos?!?

anyway, some random updates:

monday

meetings, meetings, and more meetings. and as if that wasn't enough, we went for another run at the end of the day. not that i'm really complaining, because i really need the exercise. and in a sadistic, twisted kind of way, it actually feels good to push myself this way. the memories of my track and gymnastics days came flooding back when we did our warm-ups - and i realised how much i enjoyed those days. ok la, i'm super fair and delicate now, but i'm really a sports-loving competitive tomboy at heart. speaking of which, the boy and i received a complimentary two-week pass each from california fitness, so i can finally get started on a fitness regime. but tamade, NO TIME!!

the rest of monday night was spent on proposals as well as designs for the orientation t-shirt and banner. while browsing deviantart.com for fantasy digital art on sunday, i got distracted by some really gorgeous vector art. it inspired me to give this blog an overhaul (yet again) and well, once i started, i couldn't stop. i hadn't had enough sleep for days, and yet i just couldn't sleep. i had to tweak the layout until it was at least satisfactory.

tuesday

presentations, presentations, and more presentations. we finished everything in record time and had the rest of the afternoon off, so i took the opportunity to rest. i ended up doing more designing than resting. why oh why. and i've got more proposals to work on later tonight, and more designing to do.

probably the only comfort is that the boy will be coming over later. it looks like i'm not the only one who misses him though - meng said, "where's the boy? i miss him too." and declared that he meant it. right, ok.

and in a stroke of pure genius (ok, by luck and chance la), i fixed my zen neeon. i thought about it and realised that it only started hanging after i organized my files in sub-folders rather than just one main folder. and even though theoretically it's supposed to be able to handle this function, it apparently can't. it was already laggy when all the songs were in one folder - everytime i skipped a song, the next would take a few seconds to load. so yes, i decided to try moving all the files into the old folder and voila! the player works again. i celebrated the occasion by outfitting my revived baby with a new skin.

more good news too. my booker called and now i've got another gig on 9 july, 2 hours at suntec to greet and mingle with guests. plus, the modelling course starts on 28 june, and it's two hours every week. that'll make me even busier but hell, i'm not about to turn down easy money or a bit of fun.
