the past two days have been so jam packed with activities that i haven't had much time to slack.
tuesdaywe spent the morning on proposals and themes. yawn. i used my well-deserved lunch break to play with photoshop, creating drop shadows and custom brushes. we then whiled the rest of the afternoon away by engaging in back-breaking labour - washing cans, sorting cans, breaking off the tabs, arranging cans... and trust me, there were a
lot of cans. by the time we were done, it was a sight to behold. i wish i could have taken a picture, but i'm stranded without my camera. i'm starting to miss that sleek little casio of mine.
i rushed off to meet the boy after that. it was just dinner and walking around causeway point since we were both tired, but just seeing him made my day. i haven't been seeing him as often ever since he moved out of hall, and now that he's started work, we'll be seeing each other even less. it sucks of course, but c'est la vie.
meng accosted me when i returned to hall and i was arm-wrestled into playing two rounds of mahjong, by the end of which i managed to lose $15. this must be a sign. i've grown bored of mahjong, and now i can't even win at it. must. stop. playing.
wednesdaycalled jeffrey chung models for a walk-in audition. i've been meaning to do since since i got accquainted a few JC models at the OTO roadshow and realised that their job scope is pretty much what i usually do, except that they get paid much, much more. i've done car show/IT show/etc gigs and JCM seemed the perfect agency to go to if i wanted to do all that at a higher pay.
i spent an entire hour getting ready - tweezing brows into perfection, careful application and choice of makeup, agonizing over the perfect outfit, etc. such hard work. when i got there, the audition itself was such a breeze it made me wonder why i even put in that much effort.
at the end of it all, jeffrey offered me a 3 year contract as an in-house model. sadly, i've got ehoc so i had to turn down my first assignment - an exhibition gig for next mon-thu. shit, that's quite a few hundred dollars that i could have earned. i had to settle instead for a CANON event at sentosa on the 25th - 3 hours, $80. better than nothing! i'm already thinking of basking in the sun with the boy for a few hours before the event. whee.
moving on... i met up with dear mich after the audition. i had a bit of trouble getting to her at first because i was waylaid by a strange man. i was absorbed in my own world, plugged into my gorgeous zen neeon and taking long strides in my 3 inch heels when suddenly i felt a tap on my shoulder. i turned around to see this smartly dressed man gawking at me. i removed my earphones to hear him stutter the most amazing opening line ever - "i'm sorry if i scared you. i just wanted to say that you're the most beautiful girl that i've ever seen." that was quite a stunner of a line so i just thanked him.
his breathing seemed a little heavy and he commented that he saw me walking around, and that i walk really fast - that can only mean he'd been running after me. my gosh. this must be one man who likes chicks in high heels and lots of makeup. or maybe it was the "model outfit" that i had on - white cropped diamante cardigan, black ruched tulle tank, pink pleated silk mini, black heels, and black boston bag. then he tried asking me out for coffee - to which i gave the standard "my boyfriend might be a little unhappy with that" reply, apologised, and said goodbye.
i dashed off to find mich after that. it's been such a long time since i last saw her that we had tons of catching up to do. this we did over a bit of shopping and dinner at crystal jade. and now i have two new tops, courtesy of mich! that sweetie bought me two pretty t-shirts on her trip to bangkok - handpainted designs with sparkles.
and wednesday was gone in a flash. sigh. and it's back to work tomorrow. proposals, proposals, and more proposals. at least i'll get to see the boy once tomorrow is over. can't wait for friday. in a moment of weakness, i made the following:
