To love at all is to be vulnerable. Love anything and your heart will certainly be wrung and possibly be broken. If you want to be sure of keeping it intact, you must give your heart to no one - not even to an animal. Wrap it carefully round with hobbies and little luxuries; avoid all entanglements. Lock it up safely in the casket or the coffin of your selfishness. But, in that casket- safe, dark, motionless, airless, it will change. It will not be broken; it will become unbreakable, impenetrable, unredeemable. The only place outside heaven where you can be safe from all the dangers and perturbations of love, is hell.

say hi to my new shoes
we had to dance in 3 inch heels for the sat gig - white heels for the first dance, and black heels for the second. i didn't own any plain black/white heels prior to the gig, so i had to get new ones. and given that i didn't have time to break them in before sat, it's little wonder then that i ended up with SIX bloody (not a figure of speech - they really are raw, red, and bloody) blisters.
culprit #1
2.5 inch black mock snakeskin heels from BATA. a steal at just $14.95, but these did the most damage. they're a little too tight around the toes, which is the reason why 3rd degree blisters (aka watery bumps) started forming within hours of walking around in them.
culprit #2
my 2.5 inch heels weren't high enough for jeffrey, so i bought another pair of black heels. this time, i got myself a pair of black 3 inch heels, $29.90 from seiyu. they weren't that bad, but they exacerbated my blister condition - from 3rd to 2nd degree (burst blisters).
culprit #3
finally, my killer 4 inch white mock snakeskin heels, $39.90 from URS. they're actually pretty comfy, but it doesn't help to walk around in these when you already have open blisters. which is how i ended up with 1st degree blisters (raw and red).

jolin: super embarrassing la. the costumes were way too big and my blisters were so freaking painful i couldn't smile properly. manju and renee seem pretty ok... but a little temperamental. ahem. i had a brief encounter with angel, she's really pretty and seems nice too. :)
