To love at all is to be vulnerable. Love anything and your heart will certainly be wrung and possibly be broken. If you want to be sure of keeping it intact, you must give your heart to no one - not even to an animal. Wrap it carefully round with hobbies and little luxuries; avoid all entanglements. Lock it up safely in the casket or the coffin of your selfishness. But, in that casket- safe, dark, motionless, airless, it will change. It will not be broken; it will become unbreakable, impenetrable, unredeemable. The only place outside heaven where you can be safe from all the dangers and perturbations of love, is hell.

the next step

i can't believe i'm actually considering getting my own domain and paid web hosting.

it all started when i was toying with the idea of putting a streaming mp3 player on this blog. i did a search for some free streaming flash mp3 players and found this most amazing one.

i was all ready to use it, but i couldn't find any free web hosting servers that allow streaming media or mp3 uploads. the alternative was to use a radioblog, which is a player that converts mp3 files to rbf files so that circumvents the mp3 file prohibition. but i didn't want to "steal" the radioblog idea off pixy so i started exploring my options. EDIT: i tried using the radioblog and it doesn't work with the few free hosting services i tried. i think generally all free webhosts don't support streaming. damn.

which meant paying for my own webspace. i did a search and found a couple of local companies that offer really good deals but now i'm thinking if i should even be spending money on this hobby. sigh. decisions, decisions...
