To love at all is to be vulnerable. Love anything and your heart will certainly be wrung and possibly be broken. If you want to be sure of keeping it intact, you must give your heart to no one - not even to an animal. Wrap it carefully round with hobbies and little luxuries; avoid all entanglements. Lock it up safely in the casket or the coffin of your selfishness. But, in that casket- safe, dark, motionless, airless, it will change. It will not be broken; it will become unbreakable, impenetrable, unredeemable. The only place outside heaven where you can be safe from all the dangers and perturbations of love, is hell.

hic.

can't stop hiccuping. must have been all that alcohol. i drank a record of 16 shots, 1 housepour, and a shared jug tonight. it's a wonder i even made my way back in one piece.

tonight was crazy. i didn't get my hopes up high when lavinia invited me to the smu bash at cocolatte. i just thought it'd be a good opportunity to drink and dance and let loose a little. in the end, i got more than i bargained for, with free drinks and a helluva good time. here's what happened:

first we hit dbl o for free drinks. we had six breezer shooters each before we adjourned to cocolatte to down our free housepour. then, because we couldn't feel any kick from what we'd already imbibed, we ordered ten sex on the beach shots to share, plus two tequila shots each. after that, we were suitably warmed up to hit the dance floor.

midway, lavinia got accosted by a guy and looked like she didn't need my protection so i made my own friends. first i got approached by a cute butch who bought me two more tequila shots. i danced with her for a bit since i figured that dancing with another girl couldn't do much harm since i was attached; it sure as hell is a whole lot better than dancing with another guy.

THEN a guy approached me and asked me if he could buy me a drink. i had another tequila shot, courtesy of this new guy. he turned out to be really decent, so i agreed to dance with him - he didn't touch me at all, and i'd already told him i had a boyfriend (same thing with the butch) so i didn't see any harm in it.

i had a total blast tonight. guilt-free fun! a) dancing with a butch, b) dancing with random girls and c) dancing with a guy who didn't attempt to touch me at all. plus, i got free drinks too. i should do more of this.

and the girl was absolutely sweet too. apparently she works at a cafe at scotts, and as a shift manager too. she told me to pop by anytime, and it'd be on her. whee! i don't regret giving my number away at all to her or to the guy - it's all for the sake of future networking i say. the more connections you have, the better!

one thing about pickup lines though - they haven't got any better! or maybe i should say post-pickup compliments. the girl smsed me after i left, saying that i was the prettiest babe she's seen tonight and that she'll miss me. gosh. and the guy? he thought i was a really good dancer and asked me if i was professional but even after i told him that yes, i am, but i'm a classical dancer (trained in contemporary dance, chinese dance, gymnastics...), he smsed me to tell me that i had all the vibes going in my dance moves. oh well. pretty encouraging anyway. i love hiphop/rnb!

i really should sleep now. need to wake up early tomorrow and make pancakes for tom!

For the record, I didn't leave you alone. You were as occupied as me!

damn you're right.

but then when i shook off the girl and turned around to look for you, you were B.U.S.Y. muahahhaha.
