To love at all is to be vulnerable. Love anything and your heart will certainly be wrung and possibly be broken. If you want to be sure of keeping it intact, you must give your heart to no one - not even to an animal. Wrap it carefully round with hobbies and little luxuries; avoid all entanglements. Lock it up safely in the casket or the coffin of your selfishness. But, in that casket- safe, dark, motionless, airless, it will change. It will not be broken; it will become unbreakable, impenetrable, unredeemable. The only place outside heaven where you can be safe from all the dangers and perturbations of love, is hell.

another bimbotic entry

it's true what they say about retail therapy. it really does work wonders for a girl's emotional well-being. which is why i'm writing yet another bimbotic shopping entry - planning my next purchase lifts my mood. and i've had a sucky day. so apologies, you'll have to bear with me.

if everything turns out fine the boy and i will be heading to bangkok for a short weekend trip come august. it'll be a totally well-deserved break. i'm hoping our plans won't fall through.

shopping list!

♥ makeup from the airport! all the mac, dior, lancome, stila, yadda yadda that i could ask for. drooooool.

♥ other duty-free items from the airport - alcohol, perfume, bling bling... best time to get the bling bling dior jewellery i've been eyeing.

♥ lingerie at as low as 1/3 of singapore prices. i've already got my eye on the luxe sorella collection, some wacoal basics, and i'm dying to check out bsc and other pretty thai brands.

♥ unique, quality designs from local thai designers. i've had enough of the cheap mass-produced goods that get shipped all over the world. you know, the kind of stuff that you see in pratunam/chatuchak/mbk selling at fep/bugis. there are some really good designers in bangkok, and the best thing is, their prices are reasonable by singapore standards. even better if you stumble upon a sale! i bagged myself a pair of comfy designer stilettos (almost an oxymoron in itself really) at half price on my last trip, which works out to just about $25 for a good pair of shoes.

♥ accessories! bangkok has such a wide variety at dirt-cheap prices.

itinery

it's just going to be a weekend trip, so there's not much time for us to do much. still, hopefully we'll be able to squeeze all of the following in:

♥ massage!

♥ suan lum night bazaar - some budding local designers have set up shop here.

♥ siam centre/siam square - with more established local designers. plus department stores (ie lingerie department).

♥ chatuchak weekend market - plenty of lovely stationery as well as decorative items for the room. and maybe if we're lucky, some decent clothes as well.

♥ clubbing! probably in the sukhumvit area - q bar or bed supperclub.

♥ makan, makan, and more makan! droooool.

sigh. can't wait for august.
